Monday, February 15, we decided to head north. We started at the Dole Plantation. We first went to the gift shop and looked around and then decided to go to the maze. It's a big maze and we had to find eight different stations and trace the symbol at each one on a card that we were given at the first of the maze. I had no since of direction but with Travis, Brielle and Lainey, we were able to make it through in less than an hour. After the maze, we decided to eat lunch. The food there was okay. We got a really good pineapple frozen yogurt too. After we ate lunch, we got on the Pineapple Express. It's a small train that took us around the plantation and told us the history of Dole Pineapple in Hawaii. We learned that pineapple grows on the ground and not in trees.

After the Dole Plantation, we decided just to keep riding north. We found the famous "North Shore" The waves were awesome. They were huge. It was fun watching them come in and hit the shore. Travis and the girls had fun looking for seashells too.

When we were done watching the waves, we decided to keep driving. We weren't sure where we were going, but figured Oahu was small enough that eventually, we'd figure it out. There was a two lane road most of the time and the speed limit was 35 mph. Hawaii is definitely laid back!

We ended up in La'ie and we found the temple. It was very cool. The temple is going under some reconstruction (if you look really hard, you can see a board in one of the windows of the temple) but is was still cool being there. We went to the visitor center and watched a movie about the history of the LDS religion and temple in Hawaii. After the movie we looked around the visitor center. Travis came up to me and told me that he had talked to Bob Eubanks. Well, he meant Mark Eubanks, a meteorologist from Utah. He and his wife are on a mission there. After the visitor center, we just hung around the temple grounds for a while. It was fun. When we were leaving, a sister missionary came up to us and gave us a pass a long card and told us that if we wanted to know more about their church to call the number....LOL. We took it and left.

We left La'ie and decided to head back to Honolulu. We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp that night at the Ala Mona Shopping Center in Honolulu. It was a great day!!

Hi! Hey, I am loving reading about your fun daily adventures from your trip! It brings back so many fun memories of our own when we were over there! We too loved the big waves on the north shore....and we also loved eating at Bubba Gump Shrimp! I Love the pics of your fam at the temple! How cool is that to see Mark Eubank! So much fun! your family is so beautiful!
