2008 In A Nutshell!

I can't believe that 2008 has come and gone. It was a great year. Here is a little re-cap. This is basically for me so if there are typos, sorry!

January: Brielle turns 8, Travis turns 35, Lainey loses her first tooth and we finally decide to go ahead and apply for adoption.

February: Brielle gets baptized and Lainey turns 6. We get our adoption paper's and start the process.

March: Brielle and Lainey start soccer and have dance competitions. We had a fun Easter picnic with my family.

April: ADOPTION ROLLERCOASTER. Oh, Travis and I got to a Jazz game. We decide to look for another agency and find a great one. Within 8 days we are matched with our birthmom (on April 30)! Brielle and Lainey have fun playing soccer.

May: We start talking with Rebecca every week on the phone, the kids finish soccer and dance. Lainey has her kindergarten program and school ends.

June: Brielle starts coach pitch and Lainey starts t-ball. They also start swimming lessons. We went up to the cabin and went on a hike with Travis' mom. We went to SLC for a little vacation. We had fun at Lagoon, Build-a-Bear and Temple Square. We finally meet Rebecca along with her son, Dayun, and her boyfriend, Malcom. Find out that she is scheduled to be induced on July 7. Oh, I turn 33 ;(!

July: On the 1st I get the phone call saying Rebecca is in labor. Travis and I head up to SLC on the 2nd. We get to the hospital at 10:40 am, we go into Rebecca's room for about 15 minutes and then wait in the waiting room for Malcom and Dayun. We thought it was going to be a long day because we were told she was only dialated to a 4. At 11:45 am Malcom and Dayun get to the hospital and we find out that Rebecca had the baby at 11:38 am. We get to go into her room and meet OUR SON! It's a very surreal experience. The rest of the time in SLC is a blur... July 4th we bring Cooper home and you would have thought it was Christmas a million times over with how happy Brielle and Lainey were! Loved the moment when they first saw Cooper. July 5th is my 15 year class reunion and it was a BLAST. Brielle and Lainey continue ball and swimming. We have fun on the 24th of July too! Travis' family has a family reunion.

August: Brielle starts 3rd grade and Lainey starts 1st grade. Soccer starts again, along with dance.

September. We spend Labor Day our usual way, in Parowan at the parade. Soccer continues. We get to look out our window for 3 days in a row and see hot air balloon fly right over our house during the balloon festival. TOO FUN! Oh and Travis finally got his deer.

October: Brielle decides that she doesn't want to take dance so she quits and starts violin lessons. Soccer continues. Brielle is Sharpay for Halloween, Lainey is Hannah Montana and Cooper is a Mummy. We go to the pumpkin patch. Travis leaves on October 30th for a month to do some military training.

November: Jillynne trudges along as a single parent. Is busy as ever with vinyl lettering. Brielle and Lainey continue to do well in school and Cooper is growing like crazy. Travis gets home the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and Jillynne has to go to Vegas to pick him up. We take the kids to Chuck E Cheese and they have a lot of fun. We go to his parent's house for Turkey Dinner. Travis finds out he got accepted to a Family Nurse Practitioner Program and we are so EXCITED. Oh and Jillynne shops on BLACK FRIDAY! And Brielle starts basketball

December: BUSY CRAZY MONTH! But we had a great holiday season. Lainey danced in her Christmas revue and Brielle continues with basketball. Santa found us and Brielle and Lainey got their Nintendo DS's. Cooper got some fun things too, but I think he could of cared less! We are excited to see what 2009 brings!
