Utah Summer Games

Brielle and Lainey played soccer in the Utah Summer Games in June. They were on Teresa Christensen's team and I was the assistant coach. It was a good experience. The FLAMES played 4 games. They didn't win, but they all played really hard. Brielle played forward most of the time and even scored an amazing goal. Lainey played defense and she did awesome. She was the youngest on the team and played great. GOOD JOB FLAMES!!

Soccer Sisters :)

We were able to participate in the Opening Ceremonies for the Utah Summer Games. Each of us got a T-Shirt. Before the ceremonies, I took the girls to the Athletes Dinner. They had pizza, drinks and popcicles. After the dinner, we waited with our team to line up for the Parade of Athletes. The girls were really excited and had fun with their teammates. It was cool walking into the stadium and seeing all of the people there. After we walked the track, Brielle, Lainey and I went and found Travis, Cooper, Grandma Bon and Grandpa Jeff and sat with them for the rest of the program. The program was okay, but kind of lame for a 25 year celebration of the games. The fireworks were cool though!

A HUGE American Flag

During the last game, Brielle went up for a header and got elbowed in the cheek. She was across on the other side of the field and so I couldn't tell that she was hurt. She looked over at me and I just told her to shake it off and to start playing. That lasted for about 10 seconds and the ref finally blew her whistle and motioned for a sub to come in for Brielle. When Brielle came off the field, I was surprised to see her cheek. It looked like she was sucking on a golf ball. It was huge! A couple of days after this happened, her cheek had a nice black and blue bruise on it.
