Summer Vacation, 2008

We decided to go to SLC for our family vacation this year. We had a fun time. We left home on Thursday. We went to Cabelas that evening. The girls had never been there so they had fun looking around. Lainey was so excited to go there, you would've thought it was Christmas morning or something. Of Friday, we went to Lagoon. It was alright, but after going to Disneyland, Lagoon just doesn't quite compare. On Saturday we took the girls to The Gateway and they went to Build-A-Bear and had a GREAT time. They loved it!! They each got a bunny and then got pick out clothes and shoes for them. Then we headed to Temple Square. We went to the Church Museum, the Tabernacle, the Joseph Smith movie and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and on a tour of the Beehive House. Brielle and Lainey had fun doing all of that. We came home on Sunday.

Here is the story about this picture. Brielle and I were in line to go on a ride that Lainey didn't want to go on so Travis took her. She saw a game where you could win a BIG shark. So Travis tried and only won her a small frog. She was fine with it. When Brielle and I were finished with the ride, Travis took Brielle to try and win her a frog too and Lainey and I went to get a drink. Well we get back from getting a drink and Brielle has this big smile on her face and she's holding a great BIG red shark. Lainey lost it. She started crying. I felt bad for her because she wanted a shark so bad. Travis went back to try and win her a shark, but he had lost his touch because he couldn't win one. So we are setting on a bench and Lainey is crying. This girl comes up to her and asks her if she wants her pink baseball bat. Lainey said no, but the girl insisted. Lainey finally took it and it made her feel a little better.
