Merry Christmas, 2009

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Christmas is our favorite time of year. We are so grateful for the birth of our Savior and that we get to celebrate it each December. We had a fabulous Christmas. It's sorta of a tradition in our house that the kids get to sleep in our room on Christmas Eve. Well, early on Christmas morning (2 am to be exact) this year, Travis had to get up to get Cooper a drink of water. Lainey shot straight up in her sleeping bag and then got up and started to make a mad dash to the living room. I called her back before she got too far. Call me a scrooge, but 2 am is was too early for me. So around 6 am, we decided it was time to get up. The girls ran to see what treasures Santa had left for them. We had to wake Cooper up, but when he saw his presents, he started to get excited too. The kids must have been extra good this year because Santa really spoiled them this year!! At about 9 am, Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Bonnie came to our house for Christmas breakfast. Grandma Bonnie usually cooks this for us and we go to her house, but she had just had shoulder surgery 4 days before so I cooked it. We had breakfast casserole, hashbrowns, ham and cinnamon rolls. It was really good, even if I do say so myself. At around noon, we got ready and headed out to Grandma and Grandpa Guymon's house. We saw and visited with family and ate some lunch. After about an hour, we came back home. Cooper and I took a nap. Travis, Brielle and Lainey played with their new gifts. Later that evening, we headed back out to Grandma and Grandpa Guymon's house to see more family. We stayed for about 2 hours and then came back home for good. We had a very memorable day. Travis got some snowshoes, scrubs, clothes, shoes, book and a dartboard. I got clothes, a cookbook, CD and my favorite gift was my new camera! Now I need to learn how to use it!

The tree (yes, we had a fence around our tree. I've done this with each of my kids when they were little. Keeps the tree and presents safe!!)
Cooper in his construction suite! A few of the gifts he got were a Cars playcenter, dumptruck, microphone, blocks, and clothes. He also got a Handy Manny tool box with tools from Grandma and Grandpa Robinson. He LOVES playing with that! Lainey asked Santa for a purple Ipod and a puppet. Well he came through and Lainey got a purple iPod and puppet, along with a blanket, Barbie clothes, magic wand DVDs, and an Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakquel CD. We gave her a really cute doll named Kaitlin that looks a lot like Lainey.
Brielle asked Santa for a pink iPod and an Hannah Montana Season 3 soundtrack. She got both of those gifts along with clothes, Barbie clothes, a magic wand, DVDs,
and a puppet. We gave her a really cute doll named Addison that looks like Brielle. Travis and I decided that we wanted to get a Wii this year. Brielle and Lainey had no idea that we got them this. They were so excited when they opened it. We also got Mario Kart and Super Mario Brothers.
